Over 43,000 children into school!

In 2012 Stop Child Labour started the project ‘Omar’s Dream – the beginning of the end of child labour’.  Thanks to the efforts of all who were involved, in 3.5 years time a total of 43,278 girls and boys have been withdrawn or prevented from child labour and have been returned to and retained in school.

In Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Morocco, local organisations have taken the child labour free zone concept to 35 communities. In Mali, Senegal, Morocco, Ghana and Uganda, teachers’ unions worked on the improvement of education. And in Mali, Senegal and Burkina Faso, partner organisations shared knowledge and experiences through Linking&Learning programmes.
