Last week, Stop Child Labour presented the Delhi Declaration to Ms. Stuti Kacker, the Chairperson of the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) constituted by the Government of India.
The Delhi Declaration was adopted during the National Conference on “Working towards the creation of Child Labour Free Zones” in August this year. During that meeting all participants, including representatives of companies, governments and civil society organisations, pledged to work for total abolition of child labour in all its forms and ensure that children enjoy their right to education.
The chairperson welcomed the Delhi Declaration and said that the commission is willing to work together with Stop Child Labour on this important issue.
