Doing certification differently: an example from Uganda

 

In West Nile, a remote region in the Northwestern corner of Uganda, Stop Child Labour is working with a coffee company and local partners to ban child labour from coffee production and the broader communities. The West Nile project has become a huge success. Within 2 years around 500 children have returned to school and the CLFZ is used as an example on how companies and certification standards can form an entry point to practically combat child labour in an agricultural value chain together with local partners.
